Republican primary ballot offers referendums
Johnson County Republican Party Chairman Henry Teich called the primary elections under way important and urged residents to vote for two reasons. First, several county races, including all the commissioner and constable races, consist only of Republican candidates. With no Democratic opponents in those races, the primary, or any necessary runoffs, will decide the winners.

Estee Lauder's son donates postcards to Lake museum
A donation valued at $260,000 has added an exciting new element to the world-renowned Curt Teich Postcard Archives at the Lake County Discovery Museum. Leonard A. Lauder, the eldest son of Estee Lauder, has donated more than 35,000 postcards from his Rapahel Tuck & Sons Oilette collection. Introduced in 1903, the cards are valued as being like small oil paintings.

Collector donates 35,500 postcards to Discovery Museum
A collection of postcards meant to bring the aesthetic of oil paintings to the masses over 100 years ago was donated to the Lake County Discovery Museum’s Curt Teich Postcard Archives where they will once again serve that purpose.
